Gifts of stock afford donors an opportunity to avoid capital gains taxes by transferring ownership of personally held stock to Utica College. Since Utica College is an educational institution, all stock gifts are liquidated upon receipt. Gifts of stock receive a tax-receipt that is generated usually within 24 hours of the stock sale. The value of the stock gift is based on the average of the high and low on the date of sale.
Bequests, life income gifts, charitable lead trusts, IRA rollover gifts, and other options can be beneficial for you and Utica College. Contact our planned giving team for information about the Heritage Society and planned giving options.
